Students who have chosen to offer Principles of Accounts as a subject in the GCE 'O' level examinations have made a good choice. This is a practical subject as it deals with a topic that is close to the heart for many people, both adults and teenagers alike, money. Students would not need to be very strong in Maths subjects in order to master accounting, in spite of what they might have heard from their siblings or friends who have done the subject. Accounting primarily uses four basic mathematical functions which would have been mastered during their primary school years: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
